Our Story
Two Callings, One Mission
A designer and a developer, married to each other and to the same purpose: helping churches, schools, and ministries reach the people they’re called to serve.
How we started Doxaphos
Doxaphos didn’t begin as a business plan. It began with a simple search: finding a private Christian school for our own child.
We reviewed more than sixty school websites, and almost none of them did their school justice. Broken navigation, dead links, blurry photography, admissions pages that discouraged families before they ever reached the form. These were schools doing meaningful, faithful work, shaping the next generation, yet their websites told a very different story.
That was the moment it clicked. Aurelia had spent two decades building brands for clients ranging from luxury hotels to small, handcrafted businesses. Jeff had spent his career maintaining enterprise systems where failure was never an option. Between the two of us, we already held the exact skill set needed to solve the very problem we’d just encountered firsthand. We didn’t want to build another agency competing for the highest bidder. We wanted to build something that felt like ministry itself, using the gifts God had given us.
So we prayed over it, brought together two decades of design expertise with a decade of enterprise level development, and started Doxaphos.
We’re a new studio, but not new to this work. Every project we take on receives the same care and rigor we once brought to national campaigns and mission-critical systems, now directed toward the people and places we care about most, beginning with the very kind of school we set out to find and couldn’t.

meet Our Creative Director & Designer
Aurelia Johnson
Aurelia is an artist, designer, and creative director with almost two and a half decades of experience. Her practice bridges branding and creative direction, supporting projects that require common sense, structure, and a long-term perspective.
Her background spans branding, fine art, and graphic design, with extensive experience working with handcrafted, values-driven businesses where authenticity and differentiation matter. She holds dual BFA’s in Fine Art and Graphic Design, respectively. She’s collaborated with authors, speakers, educators, coaches, wellness professionals, and independent founders, translating complex ideas and personal missions into visual identities that feel clear, credible, and true to who they are.
Alongside this, she brings a strong foundation in high-level luxury and corporate creative work. She’s partnered with brands including Bentley, Dewey’s Bakery, Old Salem, Highlands Cove Realty, Lux Resort Maldives, Krispy Kreme, Panera Bread, Estée Lauder, Harrods of London, and Sainsbury’s. After college, she began her career in 2003 as a graphic designer and lifestyle photographer at a major UK advertising agency, then moved into creative direction at a leading Southeastern marketing firm, where she led teams on large-scale global campaigns and high-level visual strategy.
Now she brings that same level of craft and strategy to churches, ministries, Christian schools, and faith-driven founders. The brands she’s built for global names taught her what it takes to earn trust at scale, and she believes your church’s website or your ministry’s brand deserves nothing less than what she once built for the boardroom. Whether it’s a pastor trying to make a first-time visitor feel at home or an entrepreneur building a business as an act of worship, she wants the outside to feel as true and as excellent as the mission behind it.
What people notice most, though, isn’t her resume. It’s that she actually listens. She’s warm, and easy to work with. She’s also very direct and tells you what’s best, not just what you want to hear. She wants to understand the heart behind what you’re building before she ever opens a design file, and it shows in the work.
Her most remarkable trait: Interactive Design using live screen sharing. End the revision loop once and for all and edit in real time with her over Zoom with her. She’s patient, quick and works with you to create your vision into a high level professional design.
Welcome to the Doxaphos difference!

Meet our senior software, app & web developer
Jeff Johnson
Before Jeff ever wrote a line of code, he spent thirteen years working the ramp and the counter for a major airline where he learned to stay calm when everything is on fire at once, a skill that turns out to be surprisingly useful in software (and raising a child) too.
He earned his Computer Science degree from NC State and spent the next decade building systems that genuinely could not afford to break. He was the developer and product expert behind a state government’s health department records management system, kept things running through the chaos of the pandemic, and became the go to expert for handling sensitive data the right way, from secure payment workflows to strict compliance environments. Along the way he built everything from customer facing web portals, mobile apps, desktop apps, and WordPress sites to internal tools that saved teams hours of manual work every week.
That’s the standard he brings to every website and application he builds now: secure, dependable, and built to actually last, whether it’s a church’s online giving page or a Christian school’s enrollment system. He believes technology should quietly do its job so people can focus on the mission in front of them, and that’s exactly what he tries to build.
His most remarkable trait: he explains things in plain English. No jargon, no talking over your head, no walking away more confused than when you called. If something breaks, he’ll hop on a call, show you exactly what’s wrong on his screen and explain it in a way that actually makes sense. No more waiting three days for a text back from a volunteer who means well but is just as lost as you are.
You have come to the right place

Aligned Values Matter
If your faith and mission are at the heart of what you’re building, we understand because they’re at the heart of what we’re building too. We know what it’s like to strive to align both life and livelihood in Christ, and we believe the strongest partnerships begin with shared values.
How Can We Help?
We are not a high volume studio and we do not rush clients through a pipeline or funnel. We don’t hold “sales calls” nor do we upsell. We have a simple conversation with zero pressure. It’s comfortable, authentic and honest for all. If we work together it is because there is a genuine match between your vision, purpose and our craft. That connection begins in your first message and unfolds naturally from there.
If you feel the pull to work together, the next step is simple. Reach out. Tell us about your mission, your gifts and where you are in the process. We do not use automated calendars, scheduling bots, or endless app messages. Our work is personal, nuanced, and built on real human connection.
Our first exchange between us deserves presence, not software. We are also happy to meet in person in the Piedmont Triad Area.
